Week 7

Image
Hey everyone!! It was a pretty awesome week here in West Jordan, Utah :)  A few quotes by Lawrence E. Corbridge have really stuck with me this week during one of my morning studies. I'll paraphrase the main one I liked: -You change all the time! YOU ARE NOT CAST IN STONE. Saying, "that's just how I am" or "that's not really who I am" or "I'm not that kinda person sorry" are all false. You CHOOSE to be that way. You will always have the agency to choose to change for the better, or for worse (But remember you are always changing). YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHO YOU BECOME, you aren't just born that way or destined to be a certain way forever. Missions are amazing! The spirit you feel, and lives you change (especially your own) are something I wish you all could feel. If you are planning on serving a mission or thinking about it, DO IT! Don't let anything stop you from this great opportunity. You will NEVER have this specific time again....

Week 6

Hello!   Hola!   Talofa!   Mālō e lelei! Those are the main languages I heard this past week (English, Spanish, Samoan, Tongan + we met a family from Pakistan but i have no clue what language they were speaking to each other haha so i didnt include that one)! It was another amazing week here in West Jordan Utah! We saw SO many miracles and blessings in each day:)  Some highlights from this week... ~Zone Temple Trip!! (Jordan River Temple) ~Meeting the Tongan Sister missionaries who have been taking good care of me and teaching me a little Tongan (I referred to them as the Tongan sisters because they cover the Tongan Stake here + they also happen to be Tongan lol)  ~Finding a Sunflower field!!! (Theres SO many sunflowers here I LOVE it!)  ~Eating out with the Tongan Sisters (and some super sweet waiter paid for our food) and then going with them to their stake activity where we got to hear lots of Polynesian music and see some awesome cultural dances!  ...

Week 5

Hey friends!! Sister Traylor here! (Sorry this is gonna be long i just have so much i want to say haha) I am now in my assigned mission! (Utah Salt Lake City West) My first area is actually West Jordan and its a walking area. We cover 2 stakes(which is 12 wards)  (just me and my companion... sooo its a lot of people to meet and remember and a lot of distance to cover especially walking but its awesome) My trainer is the best! Her name is Sister Ete'aki and she's actually Tongan and has been out about 13 months. As of this week I will officially hit 1 month as a missionary haha! Major milestone for sure.  I've already met SO many people from so many different backgrounds here it's been so special to see. Honestly I'm still surprised I got assigned in English because there's so many other languages here that only knowing English feels limited. (Me and my companion are actually working on other languages during some extra study time though so itll be cool if we eve...
