Week 33
Hellooo friends & family! This week was COLD! We got 2 feet of snow! And superrrr slow & sad, Here's some of the main events...
☆ SNOWED IN !!☆
-this week we got some CRAZY winter storms !! The snow had finally melted and days warmed up.... and then boom: 2 feet of snow, reaching ABOVE OUR KNEES! no missionaries were supposed to drive for a day so we got snowed in, honestly we couldn't have left the house if we wanted to. Our car was completely buried in snow, the snow blocked lots of our door, and one of my companions was having a bad mental health day. But that was wild
☆MIRACLES☆
- we were able to find a new person! We haven't found a new person in forever it's been so hard, but the older brother of someone we are teaching is now taking the lessons from us too :) and our friend Jorge who got baptized in January and recieved the priesthood recently, WENT TO THE TEMPLE FOR THE FIRST TIME :))) he LOVED it! He was able to take family names and get baptized for them, it was super super special.
☆ 5 DAYS INSIDE THE HOUSE ☆
-because of Sister Machen's struggle, we weren't able to leave the house much. We left the house 2 hours a day (at most, some days not at all) so we had to try to stay sane lol. We did a lot of studying and I read some awesome stuff in Matthew. I also painted some Book of Mormons!! That was super fun! I also caught up on some Journaling because I had gotten very behind haha! So although it definitely sucked being home that long and feeling sick and upset, I got a lot of things done that I never had time to do so that was nice.
☆AND THEN THERE WERE 2...☆
-unfortunately our new missionary sister Machen has to return home. Her flIght is tomorrow so we have her for one more day. She didn't adjust very well and was struggling a lot emotionally. It's been a HARD transfer for all of us but especially her. She is going home and doing a service mission from there and will do great. I've appreciated the opportunity to meet her and train her, although there's a lot of negative feelings and guilt. But we tried our best and someone pretty awesome shared with me a scripture in Moroni about Charity. And reminded me that "charity never faileth" and I know we loved her and tried our best to have a successful transfer. And we had charity towards her and we did not fail, because charity never fails.
I'm gonna be honest, I cried like everyday this week. But I've still loved every day of my mission and been grateful for everyday. Even the hard ones. It's super crazy. And these still have been the best 7 months of my life :)) Remember to always try your best, and that if you give all your effort and love God, you'll never really fail. Of course you'll learn, but you'll never fail <3
I answered some emails!! (Finally lol) Enjoy my pics from this week :) I love yall :)))
