Week 36
Hellooo friends & family! This week FLEW by! it was crazy busy and SOO good :)) this email might be long so i'll apologize in advance for that haha! here's some of this week's main events...
☆TREVOR GOT BAPTIZED ☆
-our friend Trevor got baptized on Saturday!! He said he's seen such a big change in his life since deciding to meet with missionaries and get baptized and progress further. His baptism was a little chaotic haha!! His friend was able to baptize him (which was SO cool for both of them) but they both forgot extra underwear.... and they would both be getting wet.... so our friend Trevor had his family bring him some when they came but his friend who baptized him just sat in wet slacks and looked hilarious afterwards and it was WILD.... Trevor almost didn't come to his own baptism. He said all of a sudden like an hour before the baptism would start he started freaking out. Like doubting if he should really go through with it and feeling sick to his stomach and scared and all the bad feelings. But he came anyways and was still upset to his stomach but he started to calm down. After he was baptized he threw up (in the bathroom when they were changing.... his friend literally ran out half naked while we were doing the restoration presentation to ask for a trash can) and felt totally fine and amazing after actually being baptized. We all joked it was his sins officially leaving him haha!! But overall it was a great baptism and we are so happy for him:)
☆DEAF BAPTISM!!☆
-on Saturday, right after Trevor's baptism, we went to a deaf baptism!! (My companion is originally an ASL missionary and she helped teach this person, so she got permission to go see her get baptized) It was the coolest thing EVER! My companion taught me how to properly introduce myself and common things I might see and I picked up some fun sign language from it and talked to a few people (probably super bad, but I tried my best) it was an amazing experience and the woman being baptized was GLOWING like SO happy. The spirit was SO strong there:) I'm glad we got to go and witness that, our mission president and his wife were there too, the deaf area of our mission hasn't had a baptism in a very long time because of the size of its area and very specific type of people they try to find so this was a huge deal for our whole mission:)
☆ZONE CONFERENCE☆
-we had Zone Conference on Thursday and it was honestly so good :)) I always love zone conferences, plus our mission combined the service missionaries as part of our mission officially so many of them were there, and that was AWESOME! I've learned so much about service missions and gained a huge level of respect for them. If anyone wants to serve a mission but a full time proselyting mission doesn't work for you, DO A SERVICE MISSION. they are amazing! And JUST.AS.VALID! there's such a negative stigma around it and I hate that! All forms of serving the Lord are valid and it should suit you and your needs. I invite everyone who reads this to respect ALL missions and forms of service and ministering because it is valid :))
Enjoy my pics from this week :) I love yall :)))
