Week 53
Hellooo friends & family! CRAZY WEEK. SO MUCH. here's some of this week's main events...
☆TRANSFERS!! NEW AREA & NEW COMP☆
-i have been truly humbled lol. its barely been 2 and a half days in this area and I AM STRUGGLIN. I am in a new area with a new companion. My entire mission, ive served in 2 stakes with around 14-16 wards. I am now in 1 stake with 6 wards. It is honestly a hard change of pace for me. Ive always had 10+ friends to teach. We have a whopping 0 friends right now... and they've already knocked pretty much every door in our very small area multiple times. I dont know what im going to do. And our area is also a largely hispanic populated area... but we cant teach spanish speakers. Im honestly nervous on how to even function but itll all work out soon, i really am excited though, i love a challenge!
- My companion is an interesting case too... ive had to email my mission president's wife every day & ive cried every single day of this transfer (since Friday lol) My mission President's wife deemed the situations i was in as bordline abusive and met with us over zoom last night (hence the reason i was unable to finish & send my weekly yesterday haha) and things are okay now and i feel safe again. It was a ROUGH weekend.
☆DEAD/KIDNAPPED????☆
-late last night our Zone Leaders pounded on our door... like just past 10pm. they looked absolutely terrified and kept asking us if we were okay? if everything was fine? if we needed anything? and informed us that they were sent by our mission president to see if we were okay because we hadn't been answering phone calls or texts from our mission president's wife (regarding the zoom meeting she planned on having with us) that we never got because my companion has the sim card (the only phone with wifi) and her phone had been dead since like 7:30 or 8:00pm... which mean we weren't getting texts and i had no wifi on mine and because of the situations that i had informed her about in my emails, she was worried if we (mostly me) were okay. Our district leader stalked our area book planner and called our last appointments to see if we were still at those or if they saw us at all and our zone leaders came straight to our house. It was wild and not even serious, her phone had just died and she wouldnt give me the sim card. i now have the sim card (which means i have wifi 24/7 now which makes me feel wayyyy safer) and things are getting taken care of with my companion whos going through some things. Its been so crazy and SO STRESSFUL, but things were much much better after the zoom meeting so im okay now.
☆1 YEAR!!!!! ☆
- i hit the 1 YEAR mark of starting my mission !!!! I cant believe its been a year already, but at the same time i cant believe its ONLY been a year i feel like ive been doing this forever now. kinda weird to explain haha! I love my mission, its truly been the hardest but best decision ive made so far. I cant wait to see how amazing these last 6 months of it will be!
This is definitely my hardest area and companion, but God only gives us what we can handle and what will make us grow in the ways we need to, so it's all going to work out and be awesome!
