Week 55
Hellooo friends & family! Another even CRAZIER week haha, i just cant catch a break right now. here's some of this week's main events...
☆MOVED APARTMENTS...☆
-on Tuesday afternoon we were called and told that we would be moving apartments the next day and getting roommates! (partly because our apartment was unsafe and my companion felt unsafe because of some of the men nearby, and partly an effort to help me not be alone with my companion, i had been emailed by my mission president the day before that they were trying to find missionaries nearby that we could move in with) Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday were all CRAZY BUSY because we had to pack and move and unpack all in between lessons and planned apoointments. It was physically and emotionally exhausting. my companion did not take the changes and stress well so we didn't get much work done this week which made it even harder because i kinda had to just sit there while she freaked out, napped, cleaned, and did other things besides leaving the house, that had me kinda bored on top of the stress and exhaustion... but its okay! I LOVE our roommates! They’re Spanish sisters and one of them came out with me so I've known her my whole mission and served around her before. its a PARTY and whenever my companion is being crazy i just go talk to Hermana Elias, and they’re teaching us spanish too so thats fire :) its fun having roommates. Hermana Miller always comes in our room and tells me her problems and gossip and about herself (without me asking anything she just comes and sits next to me and starts talking lol) and goes through my desk and clothes lol and Hermana Elias always lays on my bed and asks me to play with her hair or do her hair. Its fun, they feel more like sisters to me and act more like sisters to me than most of my companions did haha! Theyre fun :) I’m much happier now in this apartment
☆FINDING GRIND☆
-we tried so many different things at different times to find new people but this week we werent able to find anyone :( but we also had 3 crazy days of packing, moving, and unpacking so that definitely took a lot of our time and energy. This week we will find some new friends :)) im so excited but also frustrated. I literally KNOW there has to be people here to find so its hard getting home each night not finding them. But this week is about to be amazing im super excited :) now that me and my comp get along better we will have the spirit with us more and then the work will finally start up again
☆COMP SITUATION...☆
-things are still not exactly fun, especially with stress of moving apartments on such short notice. it really overwhelmed her which in turn made her easily irritated and in a bad mood and i took all that of course. but things are much better she's opened up to me a lot and so far ive only been her companion for over 2 weeks and i know more about her than any of her past companions who were with her for 6 weeks. so definitely good things in the works, its just hard having to patient while someone fixes themselves... but things really are much better! We stay up late talking at night and shes started to ask questions to get to know me. Like we are genuinely becoming friends it’s getting better. But it still feels like a forced friendship where you have to make yourself ask them questions or be interested in their life or try and enjoy being around them... kinda hard but ive learned lots of patience and love. Its usually easy for me to love people but with her its definitely been a challenge, so im learning a lot and improving myself:) grateful and making the best of this because im not wasting any time on my mission! I only have 6 months left of the best 18 months of my life, time FLEW!
Honestly this transfer, area, and companion are teaching me to pick my battles. ive learned that there are some things I can just ignore and deal with (like my companion driving 5 UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT EVERYWHERE because it's annoying but not serious) and some things I need to address and fix to stay safe (like being yelled at or ignored for absolutely no reason or being denied access to wifi so I couldn't reach out for help.. ) I'm learning so much patience and communication skills. im trying to have the best mission possible so I just try and count my blessings and make the best of this because there's still a month left. Missions are hard, this has definitely been my hardest transfer so far but I still love every day of my mission :))
Anyways, enjoy my pics from this week, i love & miss yall :)))
